Tutla Bhawani Temple in Rohtas, Bihar, a significant religious and natural site, is slated for a complete makeover, introducing modern facilities and a fresh appearance. The Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Department is spearheading the project with an investment of about 12 crore rupees. The foundation stone was laid by Forest Minister Dr. Sunil Kumar on Sunday.
Beyond its religious importance, the temple draws visitors due to its scenic beauty. While the site welcomes numerous devotees and tourists, the lack of adequate infrastructure, especially poor road conditions, has posed difficulties.
The renovation plan includes:
* Upgrading the access roads to the temple for ease of access for pilgrims.
* Installing CCTV cameras for security, coupled with essential facilities like changing rooms and restrooms.
* Creating a 100-meter-long walkway bridge to improve the visitor experience and provide easy access to the temple.
* Constructing a magnificent main entrance and modern gateway to welcome visitors.
* Implementing a solar power system, focusing on environmental protection and energy conservation.
* Building shops in the surrounding area to encourage local employment and provide visitors with necessary goods. This will not only benefit the local community but also boost the regional economy.
The project aims to enhance Tutla Bhawani’s status as a premier religious and natural tourist spot. Authorities expect a significant surge in visitors after the project’s completion.
The temple, situated in the Kaimur hills of Rohtas district, is celebrated for its natural beauty and waterfalls. Known also as Tutileshwari Bhawani Temple or Tutrahi Dham, it houses a 12th-century idol, built by the Kharwar kings.
Visitors to Tutla Bhawani Temple pay homage to the goddess Bhawani and enjoy the nearby waterfalls. Large congregations of devotees are seen during the Navratri festival.
