Hindi literature celebrated the birth anniversary of Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar on September 23rd, commemorating his monumental contributions. Dinkar, a key figure in Hindi literature, used his poetry to amplify the voice of the nation against British rule before independence. He fearlessly challenged the flawed policies of those in power, even after India gained its freedom.
Dinkar is celebrated as one of the most accomplished and beloved modern Hindi poets. His works, including iconic poems and books like ‘Rashmirathi’ and ‘Parshuram ki Pratiksha’, struck a chord with the public. Dinkar was born in Simaria village, Begusarai district, Bihar, on September 23, 1908.
A seminar was organized at the Jyotipuram Apartments Society in Patna, under the leadership of Ravindra Ranjan, the President of Swami Sahajanand Kisan Vahini and BJP’s Regional in-charge, to honor Dinkar’s literary legacy.
Ravindra Ranjan strongly advocated for the immediate awarding of the Bharat Ratna to Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, acknowledging him as the people’s poet. Ranjan emphasized that Dinkar rightfully deserves the Bharat Ratna and expressed concern over the delay in bestowing this honor.
Ranjan highlighted Dinkar’s vision, philosophical depth, and dedication to the pursuit of complete independence, placing him amongst the most revered figures in Indian literature. Dinkar’s writings have significantly contributed to shaping the present and future of India’s civilization and culture, offering meaningful interpretations of historical events.
Awarding Dinkar the Bharat Ratna would be a gesture of respect for the sentiments of the populace. Furthermore, Ranjan proposed the establishment of a central university in Dinkar’s name.
Dr. Prem Kumar Mani, a noted writer and former legislator, paid tribute to Dinkar, stating that his compositions embody the essence of struggle. He remarked that when Dinkar realized that post-independence leaders were focused on self-indulgence rather than public service, he courageously penned lines like, ‘Do rah, samay ke rath ka ghaghar nad suno, sinhasan khali karo ki janta aati hai’. His work is everlasting. The event was attended by many dignitaries, intellectuals, and BJP leaders including Pappu Sharma, KK Thakur, Anand Sharma, Sunil Singh, Sanjay Mayank, Pooja Rituraj, and Gyaneshwar Rai.
