With the political climate heating up in Bihar, Prashant Kishor, the driving force behind the Jan Suraaj campaign and party, has responded to inquiries about the funding of his political endeavors. Kishor, who has been actively campaigning for two years and formally launched Jan Suraaj on October 2nd, is facing scrutiny, with some alleging he is backed by the BJP. Kishor has now openly discussed the sources of funds for his party. He stated that his income stems from various sources including assistance provided to others, and fees earned from offering political advice. He indicated earning ₹241 crore in fees over the past three years. He also disclosed that he paid ₹30.95 crore in Goods and Services Tax (GST) and ₹20 crore in income tax. Furthermore, Kishor revealed he had donated ₹98 crore to the party. The Jan Suraaj party aims to contest all 243 assembly seats in Bihar, with Kishor holding rallies across the state where both the opposition and the ruling parties are criticized. Amidst these activities, the opposition views his actions as supportive of the BJP, while Kishor maintains Jan Suraaj is offering a new political choice to the people of Bihar.
