In his first response to the Bihar rally controversy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the remarks allegedly made about his late mother. He singled out Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav for criticism, citing the involvement of his mother in the political arena. The Prime Minister voiced that the abusive language used on the Opposition’s campaign stage had disrespected all women.
Speaking to approximately 20 lakh women via video conference, Prime Minister Modi reflected on his mother, Heeraben Modi’s, dedication to overcoming poverty and raising her children. He said, “Mother would be sick, but she kept working. She would save up every penny to get clothes made for us. There are crores of such mothers in our country. The place of a mother is higher than that of gods and goddesses.”
