Patna residents will soon experience metro travel, with the launch scheduled for October 6th. The inauguration of the Patna Metro is highly anticipated. Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, is set to inaugurate the project. The initial phase will see the operation of a 9-kilometer metro line on the Red Line, connecting three stations.
These stations include ISBT, Zero Mile, and Bhootnath. Approval for the metro’s operation in Patna has been granted by the Metro Rail Safety Commissioner. Following this, the Urban Development Department confirmed the inauguration date of October 6th. The metro has completed its trial runs. The Patna Metro will operate at 40 km/h. Initially, the metro will consist of three coaches.
**Displaying Bihar’s Heritage**
The metro bogies will showcase Bihar’s rich art, culture, and knowledge. The coaches are branded with ‘Patna Metro’. They feature illustrations of Patna’s Golghar, Mahavir Temple, Lord Mahavir, and Madhubani paintings, along with other cultural and artistic representations. The three metro bogies will have a combined capacity for 1000 passengers. The seating arrangement will accommodate 138 passengers, with space for 900 standing passengers.
**Advanced Safety Features**
Each coach of the Patna Metro will be equipped with a 360-degree CCTV camera. Emergency buttons and microphones will also be installed in every coach, ensuring that any issues are communicated directly to the driver. The Patna Metro promises to be a significant advancement for Bihar, offering a substantial improvement in Patna’s traffic and transportation infrastructure. The metro will alleviate the problems caused by heavy traffic and congestion.
