A major disruption has occurred at Patna AIIMS, with resident doctors ceasing work in response to an alleged incident involving JDU MLA Chetan Anand. Both the MLA and AIIMS staff have filed FIRs following a reported physical altercation. The police are currently examining CCTV footage to investigate the matter. The conflict arose when MLA Anand went to the hospital to visit a patient accompanied by his supporters. The MLA alleges that hospital security personnel mistreated him, prompting him to file a complaint. The City SP reported that both sides have filed complaints regarding the incident, which included accusations of verbal abuse and physical violence. The Resident Doctors Association (RDA) has urged the hospital administration to take action against the MLA and to enhance security measures. The RDA’s statement accuses the MLA, his wife, and armed security of forcing their way into the hospital, assaulting security, threatening resident doctors, and displaying a firearm. MLA Anand claims that hospital staff assaulted his wife and detained him after he and his wife were prevented from visiting a patient. His mother, Lovely Anand, is a JDU MP.
