In Mumbai, senior leaders from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) visited Naveen Patnaik at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Patnaik had been moved to a private room after being in the ICU, signaling a positive step in his recovery.
Patnaik, who formerly served as Odisha’s chief minister and now leads the opposition, had a successful spine surgery on June 22. The surgery addressed cervical arthritis and lasted around four hours. This event resonated deeply within Odisha, with many offering prayers for his recovery. His age of 78 made the situation more concerning.
Prem Patnaik, Naveen’s elder brother, provided an update, stating that Naveen was recovering well. He also mentioned that Naveen was able to walk a few steps on his own. He thanked everyone for their prayers and expressed hope for a swift recovery.
