During the TV9 Digital Bihar meeting held in Patna, Mukesh Sahani, representing the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), shared his perspectives on the upcoming elections. His party is aligned with the Mahagathbandhan and aims to secure a substantial number of seats in the state. Sahani confirmed his alliance with the Grand Alliance but also revealed that he continues to receive offers from the BJP. He narrated an incident where he was offered a future Chief Minister position by the BJP. Sahani said he has demonstrated that the son of a Mallah is capable of more than just fishing, having created MLAs, Chief Ministers, and ministers. He also accused the BJP of trying to split his MLAs. Sahani believes that the BJP is worried about the potential rise of a Nishad community member and their subsequent claim to power.
When asked about his aspiration to become Deputy CM, Sahani acknowledged that his party is part of a six-party coalition. He stated that Tejashwi Yadav would lead the election under the Mahagathbandhan, and he would become the CM. Sahani affirmed that the government would be formed by the Grand Alliance, and the son of an extremely backward class with 11% of the vote share will have a significant role, which could lead to a Mallah’s son becoming the Deputy CM.
Regarding seat demands, Sahani noted that in past by-elections, his party secured 14-15% of the vote share on its own. The party is contesting elections with the Congress as a major partner. Sahani did not specify the number of seats but indicated his party will fight for a good number of them. He emphasized that his presence guarantees government formation, so there is no need for negotiation.
Sahani criticized CM Nitish Kumar, pointing out that the state is not being run correctly, with rising corruption and a decline in law and order. He expressed confidence that the people of Bihar would give his party a chance, enabling them to establish a strong government and fulfill public expectations.
