The IMD has issued an Orange Alert for exceptionally heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand, specifically in Bageshwar, Nainital, and Dehradun. Sunday is expected to bring very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in these areas. Moreover, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, and Champawat are also forecasted to experience substantial rainfall. Other regions within the state are likely to face heavy rain accompanied by thunder. The weather department has urged residents to stay alert and exercise caution. The slight reduction in rainfall in Uttarakhand offers some respite to the population.

The meteorological department projects heavy rainfall in numerous western UP districts from August 16th to 22nd, including Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Agra, Moradabad, and Bareilly. Eastern UP is also slated to receive heavy rainfall. Districts such as Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Deoria, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kushinagar, Ballia, and Mau are likely to experience heavy rainfall on August 21st-22nd.
