In a recent TV9 ‘digital meeting’ held in Purnia, Bihar, ahead of the upcoming elections, JDU minister Leshi Singh addressed various issues. Singh, the MLA from Dhamdaha, was questioned about whether JDU’s alliance with the BJP on the Waqf law would pose problems for the party in the Seemanchal region. She responded by emphasizing that her focus is on the work done and its impact on the public.
Regarding the Waqf law, Singh highlighted the fairness and justice-oriented approach of the government and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Bihar. She cited the Purnia region as an example, where the Chief Minister has always ensured equitable development for all, leading to their approach of seeking votes based on their accomplishments. She added that they consistently receive public support.
Furthermore, Singh criticized Tejashwi Yadav, addressing allegations about her association with ‘Bahubali,’ dismissing them as baseless. She highlighted her commitment to working for the people, emphasizing that the poor have faith in the administration’s impartiality. Singh contrasted the current government with the previous one, which she claimed favored certain groups. She stated that their government ensures justice, and in a democracy, the people are the ultimate authority.
Commenting on Tejashwi Yadav’s visit to the Purnia Medical College, Singh suggested that if he had assessed the hospital’s condition during his tenure as Health Minister, it would have demonstrated his commitment to improving healthcare. She implied that his visit was politically motivated. Singh criticized him for not informing the hospital administration and noted that the situation deteriorated after he left. She also remarked that some individuals present with the patients were incorrectly identified as patients themselves.
When asked about the JDU’s perceived weakening in Purnia, Singh acknowledged that electoral outcomes fluctuate. She affirmed the party’s commitment to improvement and its determination to win the public’s trust in the upcoming elections. She recognized the multitude of factors influencing elections and assured that the party is actively preparing for a strong performance in the Purnia region.
