With the upcoming Bihar assembly elections on the horizon, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has unveiled a new team. Following his thirteenth consecutive term as party president, Yadav constituted the National Executive Committee. Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi has been appointed as the party’s vice-president, and Jagdanand Singh, the former Bihar RJD president, has been given a key position. This move by the RJD supremo is viewed as a significant strategic decision before the elections.
Jagdanand Singh, who recently served as the Bihar RJD president, has been assigned a national role and appointed as a national vice-president. Mehboob Ali Kaiser and Uday Narayan Chaudhary are also national vice-presidents. Notably, Shivanand Tiwari, a former national vice-president, is no longer part of the team.
The notification released by Lalu Prasad Yadav on Saturday also detailed other party members and their positions. Abdul Bari Siddiqui will serve as the Secretary-General, and Sunil Kumar Singh is the National Treasurer. In addition, Jayaprakash Narayan Yadav, Dr. Neel Lohit Das, Bhola Yadav, Lalit Kumar Yadav, Kumar Sarvjeet, Syed Faisal Ali, Abhay Singh, Sukhdev Paswan, Sushila Murale, Anu Chako, Binu Yadav, and Renu Kushwaha have been appointed as General Secretaries.
Furthermore, Yaduvansh Kumar Yadav, Dr. Lal Ratnakar, Bharat Bhushan Mandal, Kartikey Kumar Singh, Vijay Verma, Santosh Kumar Jaiswal, Sanjay Thakur, Rajendra Ram, Sweety Seema Hembram, and Surendra Ram have been appointed as Secretaries.
Appointments for the national presidents of various party cells were also made. The notification announced the presidents for the National Women’s Cell, National Youth Cell, National Minority Cell, National Scheduled Castes and Tribes Cell, National Farmers’ Cell, and National Students’ Cell.
Former Union Minister Kanti Singh will lead the National Women’s Cell. Abhay Kushwaha, Member of Parliament from Aurangabad, is the president of the National Youth Cell. Mohammad Ali Ashraf Fatmi, another former Union Minister, will head the National Minority Cell, while Shivchandra Ram, a former minister in the Bihar government, will lead the National Scheduled Castes and Tribes Cell.
Sudhakar Singh, Member of Parliament from Buxar, has been appointed as the president of the National Farmers’ Cell. Sudhakar Singh is the son of Jagdanand Singh, a senior RJD leader and former state president. Professor Naval Kishore has been appointed as the president of the National Students’ Cell.
Lalu Prasad Yadav was elected as the party’s national president on July 5th during the RJD National Executive meeting. The announcement of the new team followed 20 days later. A notable appointment is that of a professor, Professor Naval Kishore Yadav, a teacher by profession, as the president of the National Students’ Cell.
