A trophy tour, designed to publicize the Hero Asia Cup 2025, which will take place in Rajgir, Bihar, from August 29 to September 7, is making its way through all the districts of the state. The tour commenced on August 17 and aims to popularize hockey among the populace. The tour will encompass all districts of Bihar along with visits to Chennai, Chandigarh (Punjab, Haryana), Delhi, Odisha, Assam, and Jharkhand. The tour’s core objectives are to cultivate enthusiasm for hockey among young people, foster a sporting culture, and encourage public involvement in this momentous event. Following visits to Patna, Vaishali, and Bhojpur, the trophy tour arrived in Buxar, Muzaffarpur, and Motihari on Tuesday, where it was met with enthusiastic receptions. In Buxar, a welcome ceremony at the Collectorate saw District Magistrate Dr. Vidyanand Singh and Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya explain the significance of the Asia Cup and its hosting in Bihar. Many players and local residents warmly greeted the trophy and the tour participants. In Muzaffarpur, District Magistrate Subrat Sen, District Sports Officer Rajendra Kumar, physical education instructors Ram Kumar Rai and Karunesh Kumar, along with numerous players and residents, welcomed the tour at the Collectorate. The District Magistrate participated in a symbolic hockey game to inspire the players.
A welcome ceremony was organized at the sports building and gymnasium in Motihari. District Magistrate of Motihari, Saurabh Jorwal, District Sports Officer Shubham Kumar, and District Development Commissioner Saurabh Suman Yadav, together with players and local residents, gave the trophy a rousing welcome. District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal briefed the attendees about the Hero Asia Cup and encouraged the players by participating in a symbolic hockey game. Wherever the trophy tour goes, it is met with great enthusiasm and zeal. The trophy tour is scheduled to reach Rajgir on August 29 after traversing all the districts of Bihar.
