As a result of the GST Council’s decision at its 56th meeting on September 3rd, the central government has lowered GST rates on select dairy products, effective September 22nd. The Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation Limited (COMFED), which operates under the Sudha brand, has adjusted the prices of its various dairy and dairy-based offerings to reflect these changes, bringing direct economic benefits to consumers.
In the butter category, consumers will now find Table Butter priced at ₹31 (50g), a reduction from ₹32; ₹55 (100g), down from ₹56; and ₹270 (500g), reduced from ₹275.
Paneer prices have also been adjusted downwards. The 100g pack now costs ₹46 instead of ₹47, the 200g pack costs ₹85 instead of ₹90, and the 500g pack is priced at ₹205, a decrease from ₹210.
Milk product prices have also seen reductions. Tetra Pack Toned Milk (1000 ml) is now priced at ₹73, down from ₹74, and Tetra Pack D.T.M. Milk (1000 ml) is available at ₹68, reduced from ₹70. Alester Toned Milk has also been adjusted: the 200 ml pack now costs ₹14, the 500 ml pack costs ₹32, and the 1000 ml pack is priced at ₹63. Alester Standard Milk (500 ml) is now sold for ₹34.
The ghee category has also experienced notable price cuts. Special Pouch Ghee (200 ml) is now available at ₹143, down from ₹145; 500 ml is priced at ₹315, a reduction from ₹320; Special Tetra Pack Ghee (500 ml) costs ₹325, down from ₹330; and the 1000 ml pack is priced at ₹630, reduced from ₹640. Special Tin Pack Ghee (1 kg) is now sold for ₹640, down from ₹650.
It’s important to note that some products in the market may still have the old packaging with the original MRP. Consumers are assured that these products are being sold at the new prices. Customers are advised to check the latest prices with the retailer during purchase.
