In Muzaffarpur, Bihar, a young man’s late-night visit to his girlfriend resulted in a harrowing ordeal. The couple’s private moment was interrupted by villagers who, after assaulting the boy, compelled him to marry the girl. The boy’s father subsequently lodged an FIR against six individuals.
The father alleges that his son was kidnapped and subjected to a forced child marriage. Law enforcement has taken custody of both the minor boy and girl and is providing counseling. The individuals responsible for orchestrating the forced marriage are currently at large, with police actively searching for them.
Included among the accused is the girl’s father. The incident unfolded in a village under the jurisdiction of the Bariyarpur police station. Reports indicate that the 17-year-old girl from Bariyarpur was involved in a relationship with a boy from the Patepur police station area in Vaishali district. Both were caught in a precarious situation late at night, leading to the girl’s family intervening and forcing the marriage.
