A tragic accident in Saran, Bihar, claimed the lives of five people when a pickup van overturned due to a tire blowout. The high-speed vehicle was carrying a load of corn when the incident occurred. The victims, all residents of the same village, were confirmed dead at the scene.
The accident happened near the Bajitpur Four-Lane road within the jurisdiction of the Nayagaon police station in Saran district. The pickup truck, loaded with corn from Dighwara, was en route to Hajipur when a tire exploded. The driver lost control, causing the vehicle to flip over.
Around 25 individuals were onboard the vehicle.
Among the deceased were a woman and four other individuals. Several others sustained injuries in the accident. Local residents quickly responded to the scene to assist in rescue efforts. All fatalities have been identified and are from the same village.
The injured were transported to the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Anju Devi (48, wife of Raj Kumar Pandit), Radhika Devi (50, wife of Raju Baitha), Sonu Kumar (23, son of Shrawan Ram), Rajlaxmi Kumari (15, daughter of Panchu Ram), and Shivam Kumar (7, son of Rambabu Ram). Local police responded to the scene and transported the injured to Sadar Hospital in Hajipur for treatment. Two seriously injured individuals were later referred to PMCH for advanced medical care. Police investigations are ongoing.
