The Election Commission of India (ECI) is confident that it will meet the July 25 deadline for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar. The ECI announced that 47% of the Enumeration Forms have been collected within two weeks of the drive, which began on June 24. Data released by the ECI on Monday evening shows that 3.70 crore forms have been collected out of a total of 7.90 crore electors. The ECI reported that over 97% of the 7.9 crore forms printed were distributed to potential electors.
The ECI has deployed 20,603 additional Booth Level Officers (BLOs), bringing the total to 77,895. These BLOs are conducting household visits. Additionally, around 4 lakh volunteers are helping vulnerable groups with the form-filling process. The election team is working across all 243 Assembly constituencies.
Political parties are also actively involved, with District Presidents appointing Booth Level Agents (BLAs). The number of BLAs has increased to 1,56,626 from 1,38,680 at the start of the exercise.
