The issue of individuals possessing multiple EPIC numbers in Bihar has expanded beyond Tejashwi Yadav. A new case has surfaced involving the wife of CPI (ML) MP Sudama Prasad from Ara. This development follows the release of the draft voter list, which prompted scrutiny of voter identification details. The Election Commission is currently investigating Tejashwi Yadav’s possession of two EPIC numbers and has requested both original IDs. The legitimate EPIC number for Tejashwi Yadav is RAB0456228, with no existing record for RAB2916120.
The ECI unveiled the draft voter list for Bihar on August 1. The deadline for political parties and voters to submit requests for changes to the voter list is September 1. The Election Commission clarified that the draft voter list is not the final one, and the final list will be published on September 30 to ensure the inclusion of all eligible voters. The Election Commission has removed 6.5 million names under the first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
