Patna, the capital city of Bihar, is experiencing a surge in violent crime. The recent series of shootings and incidents of extortion point towards a decline in the fear of law enforcement among criminals. Despite the efforts of the police, criminals continue to operate with apparent impunity. In a span of 24 hours, several serious crimes have been committed in the capital. The latest incident occurred in the Bikram police station area of the Paliganj sub-division, near Patna, where unidentified assailants shot and killed two youths on a motorcycle on the Manjhauli Singara road.
Both victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Upon receiving information about the incident, local police arrived at the location. Subsequently, the Patna FSL team was notified. Currently, the identities of the deceased individuals remain unknown.
According to reports, villagers out for a morning walk on the Manjhauli Singara road on Tuesday discovered the bodies. They found a black and red Apache motorcycle nearby. The bodies of the two youths were lying a short distance away, soaked in blood. The news quickly spread throughout the village.
The villagers immediately alerted Dial 112. Police from the Bikram police station responded and initiated an investigation. The identities of the deceased are still unconfirmed. The police recovered multiple spent bullet casings from the crime scene. Preliminary investigations suggest the victims were murdered late at night.
Bikram Station House Officer Vinod Kumar stated that villagers reported the discovery of two bodies on Manjhauli Singara road. The victims had been shot. A motorcycle was also found at the scene. Police recovered approximately 9 to 10 bullet casings.
