A young woman’s death in Begusarai, Bihar, is under investigation after she passed away under suspicious circumstances. The woman had a love marriage only four months prior. Her husband claims she took her own life after being upset about not visiting her parents. Police have launched an investigation and are awaiting the post-mortem results. The deceased’s family has accused the husband and his family of dowry-related murder, alleging they were seeking a motorcycle.
The couple, Rakhi Kumari and Ravish Kumar, had eloped and married in January. Rakhi’s family reportedly pressured her to leave Ravish. Ravish said Rakhi’s family had come to take her back home. After her family left, Rakhi’s health deteriorated, and Ravish took her to a local hospital. She was later transferred to a private nursing home, where she passed away.
The husband stated that the doctor informed him that his wife had ingested a poisonous substance. However, the deceased’s mother alleges that her daughter was killed because of a demand for a motorcycle as dowry. Police have initiated a probe and a clash erupted between the two families at the hospital.
