The wife and her relatives attacked the husband before taking him away in front of witnesses who did not intervene.
The couple, who have been at odds for a year, originated from different areas within the Purnia district. The wife’s family claims that the husband and his father’s alcoholism led to her leaving the marriage. The husband’s legal representative mentioned that the man had sought to restore their marriage through a police family center.
The family court was handling the case, and mediation attempts had failed. When the husband attended a subsequent hearing, the wife attacked him and forcibly took him. The wife alleges that the husband has remarried. She stated that if he wants to be with her, he should return the dowry money.
