Bihar is poised for a major infrastructure and development boost with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to launch projects worth over ₹40,000 crore in Purnia. The Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary confirmed the upcoming visit, noting that the Prime Minister’s engagements often include substantial financial commitments for Bihar’s development. The focus of the visit on September 15th will include the inauguration of a new interim terminal at Purnia Airport, signifying the commencement of commercial flights and improved regional connectivity. In 2015, the Prime Minister previously sanctioned a special economic package of ₹1.65 lakh crore. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to initiate several other significant projects, including initiatives under the Namami Gange program, a sex-sorted semen production center, and a new railway line connecting Araria to Galgaliya. The new airport terminal in Purnia will serve to strengthen the state’s air travel network. Furthermore, the PM will facilitate access to modern semen technology for the benefit of local farmers and animal husbandry professionals. Several critical projects are scheduled for groundbreaking during the visit, including a thermal power project in Bhagalpur district and water supply projects across various districts.
