Samrat Chaudhary, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, revealed plans for a new readymade garments unit in Muzaffarpur, with financial incentives approved for M/s Gogreen Apparel Limited. The unit in the Bela Industrial Area, Phase-2, will have a capacity of 55 lakh pieces annually, supported by a private investment of 2336.22 lakh rupees. The approval followed the company meeting specific requirements, including documentation and financial reports. The state government is prioritizing the textile and leather sectors.
Chaudhary highlighted the initiative as a key step to encourage industrial investment, led by the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government, creating job opportunities and bolstering the state’s economy. With the recently approved New Industrial Policy 2025, the government is focused on industrial growth. This investment is expected to generate jobs and drive industrial growth in Bihar.
Addressing the Bihar Idea Festival, the Deputy Chief Minister discussed the rapid industrial development underway in the state. With industrial corridors being developed, Chaudhary requested support for further expansion. Union Minister Piyush Goyal promptly responded by announcing four additional industrial corridors in various regions of Bihar. Goyal praised the New Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package-2025 for being a simple and generous one.
Chaudhary expressed gratitude to Goyal. He also mentioned the progress under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, with the goal of creating employment opportunities.
He highlighted infrastructure improvements, including enhanced road networks, rail expansions, and ongoing marine drive projects. He also pointed out that 17 ethanol plants have already been established, and that the state is making use of various agricultural products in ethanol production. Moreover, approximately 40 lakh jobs have been created in the last five years, and the objective for 2025-30 is to generate one crore jobs.
Chaudhary noted that Prime Minister Modi has provided Bihar with schemes worth 1.65 lakh crore rupees. He also mentioned the upcoming inauguration of projects worth approximately 50,000 crore rupees in Purnia on September 15th. The Purnia Airport, featuring the largest runway in Bihar, is set to be inaugurated on the same day.
The state is currently producing and consuming 9,000 megawatts of electricity. The Deputy Chief Minister expressed optimism about future industrial growth, stating that the state is establishing a favorable environment for industries with infrastructure development and the new industrial policy. He concluded that Bihar’s progress is intrinsically linked to the nation’s progress, underscoring the importance of industrial development for the state and the country.
