In a shocking incident in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, a student was murdered, and his face was disfigured with acid. The body of 21-year-old Abhishek Kumar, who went missing from Ahiaur’s Zero Mile two days ago, was discovered in the Budhi Gandak river near Motipur on Wednesday. The victim’s hands and feet were bound, and his nails were ripped out. Ahiaur police, in collaboration with Motipur police, recovered the body from Kodariya Ghat near Moresandi village and sent it for a post-mortem examination at SKMCH. Initial investigations suggest that a friend of the deceased owed him five lakh rupees. According to Ahiaur police, the student’s disappearance was reported by his father at the local police station two days before the body was found. It was revealed that Abhishek’s hands and feet were tied behind his back with a rope, his nails were brutally removed, and deep wounds were found on his neck. Authorities suspect that the body was disposed of in the river after the murder. Police officer Rohan Kumar from the Ahiaur police station mentioned that the perpetrators used acid to burn the face, potentially hindering identification. Abhishek’s father, Vinod Rai, a resident of Rajepur, East Champaran, filed an FIR on Tuesday, accusing 12 individuals, including Abhishek’s friend and his family members, of involvement in the murder. Vinod Rai stated that he last spoke to his son, Abhishek, who was studying in Ahiaur, on the night of June 23. When he was unable to reach him the next day, he contacted Nitish, who informed him that Ayush had taken Abhishek to a party. A case was registered at the police station on June 24. It is alleged that Ayush had borrowed five lakh rupees from Abhishek to start a hotel. Vinod Rai claimed that when Abhishek pressured Ayush to return the money, Ayush, with the intention to kill, took Abhishek to a hotel, gave him food, and along with his accomplices, brutally murdered him before dumping the body in the river. The discovery of the body brought immense grief to the family. Ahiaur police reiterated that the student had been missing for two days, and his father had filed a missing person report. The investigation confirmed that Abhishek’s hands and feet were bound, nails were removed, and he had deep injuries on his neck. City DSC-2 Vineeta Sinha confirmed the brutal murder of the student, stating that the police are acting on the basis of the father’s complaint and family statements. The police are actively working to apprehend the suspects and expect to solve the case soon.
