A road project in Bihar is generating controversy due to its unusual design. The road, connecting Patna to Gaya, includes a segment in Jehanabad near the DM office, with a budget of ₹100 crore. The most notable aspect of this road is the presence of trees in the center of the lanes, a design choice that has surprised many.
Videos and images of the road have circulated widely on social media, sparking discussions about the safety implications. Local residents point out that the trees, especially at night without adequate street lighting, are a source of accidents. Several instances of two-wheelers hitting the trees have been reported.
The Road Construction Department, facing delays in obtaining permission from the Forest Department to remove the trees, opted to build the road around them. The department explained that they had sought an NOC from the Forest Department but were still awaiting approval.
