Key figures in Bihar’s political arena are focusing on different strategies ahead of the upcoming elections. The BJP is highlighting the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment, while the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is taking proactive steps by announcing its candidates. Additionally, the government has launched initiatives to provide financial assistance to women for self-employment.
Dr. Dilip Jaiswal, the Bihar BJP President, emphasized that both the central government and the Bihar government, led by Nitish Kumar, are actively working to make women self-reliant and to honor them. He noted that a significant portion of development programs are centered around women’s welfare. The recent launch of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which provided the first installment of Rs. 10,000 to 75 lakh women, was lauded by Jaiswal as a crucial step towards empowering women.
JDU National Spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad highlighted the launch of a direct financial assistance scheme for self-employment for women in Bihar during Navratri, emphasizing the positive impact of the initiative.
The BSP has announced its candidates for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, positioning itself in the electoral landscape. The party has selected Vikas Singh (alias Lallu Patel) for Bhabua, Omprakash Deewana for Mohania, and Satish Yadav (alias Pintu Yadav) for Ramgarh. The candidate for the Chainpur seat is yet to be announced.
JDU’s Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said that the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana represents a milestone. This scheme provides financial aid to 75 lakh women through DBT, totaling Rs. 7,500 crore. This financial support will empower women and help them achieve their goals, fostering self-reliance.
The Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and the first installment of Rs. 10,000 was transferred to 75 lakh women. Party members celebrated the occasion with enthusiasm.
Furthermore, the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) saw the inclusion of several leaders from the Shahabad, Mithila, and Patliputra regions. Upendra Kushwaha, the RLM’s national president, welcomed the new members, expressing confidence that their joining would strengthen the party’s presence in the respective regions. The joining included the former Lok Sabha candidate from Madhubani, Priyaranjan Pandey, and others.
Dipankar Bhattacharya, CPI (ML) General Secretary, addressed the Patliputra Dalit Sammelan, highlighting the importance of protecting the constitutional right to vote. He also underscored the significance of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s initiatives and the constitution-making process.
RJD spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s remarks against RJD leaders Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, calling them inappropriate. Gagan pointed out the significance of respecting women, especially during Navratri, and lamented the language used by the Chief Minister.
