Criminals in Bihar are showing a concerning lack of fear, now targeting residences in high-security zones. A recent theft at the house of a BJP MLA, located at 12, Circular Road, near the Secretariat Police Station, is a clear example. The thieves made off with items like fans, coolers, and even the water taps.
The targeted residence belonged to Murari Prasad Gautam, who previously served as a minister with the Congress party in the Mahagathbandhan government. The location is considered high-profile, with the Chief Minister’s residence directly across the street and the former Chief Minister Rabri Devi’s residence in the vicinity. Gautam, who is now a BJP MLA, had initially supported the NDA after the change in government.
Details of the theft reveal that, in addition to fans and coolers, the thieves also stole the bed and taps. Gautam, who discovered the theft on June 22, suspects those with substance abuse issues were involved.
A formal complaint has been lodged, and police are investigating the matter. The former minister has pointed fingers at anti-social elements in the neighboring areas, advocating for action against them, and indicating his belief that the theft was orchestrated by residents of nearby shantytowns.
