In a major boost to its healthcare infrastructure, Bihar has launched a new drug control laboratory in Patna. The lab, inaugurated by Health Minister Mangal Pandey, represents an investment of ₹30 crore and is equipped with cutting-edge technology.
The new facility eliminates the need to send samples to other states like Kolkata for quality testing, streamlining the process and reducing turnaround times. With 28 modern instruments, the lab can perform detailed analysis of medicines and food products, enhancing the state’s capacity to ensure quality and safety.
The lab is expected to boost the local healthcare system. Health Minister Pandey highlighted that the lab guarantees health security for the state’s 13 crore residents, ensuring access to quality medicines. The project aligns with the national vision of a ‘Safe India, Healthy India.’ Key figures present at the inauguration included Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav and senior health officials.
