With Bihar’s upcoming assembly elections, political activity is in full swing. Discussions revolve around who will be the Chief Ministerial candidate for the opposition’s Mahagathbandhan. Tejashwi Yadav, a prominent RJD leader, has repeatedly stated his intention to become the CM. Recently, during the TV9 Digital Bihar meeting, he reiterated his claim to the position. These declarations have elicited responses.
BJP MP Manan Kumar Mishra commented on Yadav’s statements, implying that Yadav’s CM ambitions are self-proclaimed, contrasting with the public’s perception. Mishra suggested that the alliance is experiencing internal division as the elections draw near.
“Congress Also Doesn’t See Tejashwi as CM Candidate”
The MP pointed out that even the Congress party hasn’t endorsed Yadav as the CM candidate. He highlighted that the Congress has not issued any statements on this matter, yet Yadav continues to assert his claim, suggesting potential disagreements within the alliance.
“No Problem in the Alliance over CM Face”
Congress spokesperson Rajesh Rathore stated that the CM decision will not be made by any individual but by the party. He emphasized that the Congress is contesting the elections under Tejashwi Yadav’s leadership and coordination. Rathore stated that the CM face will be decided through a collective process, and that there were no current issues surrounding this matter within the alliance.
“If There Was No Vote Theft in 2020, Tejashwi Would Be CM Today”
The Congress spokesperson added that the decision on the CM candidate will be made by the India Alliance’s top leadership. He further stated that if the 2020 elections had not been marred by alleged vote tampering, Yadav would be the Chief Minister today.
Tejashwi Yadav Declares Himself CM Candidate
At the TV9 Digital Bihar meeting, Tejashwi Yadav affirmed that he is the sole candidate for the Chief Minister position. He declared that he is going to be the Chief Minister and that an official announcement will follow once the seat-sharing agreement is finalized.
