Jehanabad’s District Magistrate, Alankrita Pandey, took swift action against officials in Kako Nagar Panchayat, Bihar, following an outbreak of waterborne illnesses. The DM’s visit revealed severe issues with sanitation, including stagnant water and unhygienic conditions, which had led to numerous cases of diarrhea. Expressing her anger, the DM directly addressed the officials, highlighting their lack of diligence and the suffering of the local population. She demanded an explanation for the inaction in resolving the sanitation problems that were contributing to the spread of diseases. The local community also voiced their concerns directly to the DM. The incident was captured on video and shared widely on social media, garnering praise for the DM’s firm stance. She has warned that such negligence will not be tolerated and that the administration is committed to supporting the residents during this crisis.
