The issue of fraudulent residential certificates in Bihar is ongoing, with new cases of deception emerging regularly. Authorities are now investigating a case where an application for a residential certificate was submitted using the name and photograph of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. This incident has led to the filing of an FIR against an unidentified person in the Saraiya police station area of Muzaffarpur. Revenue Officer Abhishek Singh reported the matter, highlighting the intent to damage the Chief Minister’s reputation and question the integrity of the administrative processes. The online application, dated July 29, sought a residential certificate in the name of CM Nitish Kumar, with the application ID BRCCO/2025/6940816. The application included the Chief Minister’s photo in place of the applicant’s. Upon verification, the application was revealed as a fraudulent attempt to bypass regulations.
