To facilitate the timely availability of high-quality seeds for the upcoming Kharif season, the Bihar government has launched a seed distribution drive. Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha emphasized the need to supply seeds to all farmers by June 20th. The government has set ambitious targets for seed distribution for the Kharif 2025 season. These targets include 30,000 quintals of hybrid rice, 30,069 quintals of high-yielding rice varieties, 9,500 quintals of hybrid maize, and 9,740 quintals of pigeon pea seeds. The government aims to ensure the distribution process is transparent and meets the requirements of the farmers. The Agriculture Department has established district-specific goals to ensure timely seed delivery. The Deputy CM has urged farmers to maximize the use of the improved, certified seeds provided by the department, and to adopt scientific farming techniques to boost their yields. This move is aimed at fostering agricultural prosperity in Bihar and contributing to the broader goal of a developed state.
