Confidence is soaring within the BJP camp as its national president anticipates a landslide victory for the NDA in the Bihar Assembly elections. He projected that the alliance would comfortably secure a two-thirds majority in the state’s 243-seat legislature, a testament to the NDA’s strong footing. The polling is set to take place on November 6 and November 11, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 14.
The BJP leader took a veiled jab at the opposition Mahagathbandhan, pointing out their lack of clarity regarding seat distribution and candidate announcements. In contrast, he emphasized the NDA’s organized approach, noting that seat-sharing discussions have concluded, and candidate lists are being systematically released. This strategic advantage, he suggested, positions the NDA favorably.
“All parties have discussed seat sharing and constituencies. After these discussions, each party is now announcing its candidates… We were the first to share information about our seat-sharing arrangements. We have announced our initial list of candidates, with more to follow soon… There is no problem anywhere. Currently, I am heading to the JDU office, where we will further discuss this matter… As of now, Mahagathbandhan has neither provided the correct figures about their seat sharing nor announced their candidates… NDA will win with a two-thirds majority,” he told reporters, reiterating the alliance’s confidence and preparedness.
Further bolstering the NDA’s campaign, the Janata Dal (United) has revealed its first batch of 57 candidates, approved by party leader Nitish Kumar. Key nominations include Shravan Kumar for Nalanda. The BJP has also released its initial list of 71 candidates. The alliance’s finalized seat-sharing pact sees the BJP and JDU contesting an equal number of seats (101 each), while the Lok Janshakti Party will field candidates in 29 constituencies. The Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Hindustani Awam Morcha will participate in six seats each, presenting a united front for the upcoming Bihar elections.
