Before the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, the Election Commission of India (ECI) addressed the media in Patna. The ECI’s visit to Bihar entered its second day, focusing on the preparations for the assembly elections. Discussions included meetings with the heads of enforcement agencies and nodal officers. The Election Commission confirmed that the Bihar elections are scheduled to conclude before November 22, 2025.
Chief Election Commissioner Gynesh Kumar shared that political parties have proposed holding elections soon after Chhath Puja. He added that various political parties have requested the elections to be conducted in one or two phases. The ECI acknowledged the success of SIR, launched on June 24 and completed on schedule. The SIR initiative is considered a model for the entire nation.
