The Election Commission of India is dispatching a team to Bihar today to assess the state’s election readiness, with the possibility of an early announcement of election dates. Simultaneously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch several youth-focused projects in Delhi today, with a total investment of over Rs 62,000 crore. The Chief Election Commissioner, along with other Election Commissioners, will spend two days in Patna, starting today. The current Bihar assembly’s term expires on November 22nd. Before the election schedule is formally announced, such visits by the Election Commission are commonplace. The BJP unit in Jammu and Kashmir will also hold a meeting to strategize for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in the union territory. The Election Commission had previously scheduled the elections for October 24th. In other news, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will begin a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh, participating in the Muria Darbar as part of the Bastar Dussehra celebrations.
