The upcoming Bihar Assembly elections for 2025 are not just about political promises but also about the personal fortunes of its leading politicians. Latest disclosures show Samrat Choudhary, a key BJP leader, as the wealthiest among the prominent figures, boasting a net worth exceeding Rs 11 crore.
His financial declaration, made during his nomination for the Tarapur seat, outlines a robust portfolio. Real estate and land form the bulk of his holdings, valued at approximately Rs 9.30 crore. Further diversifying his wealth, Choudhary has invested around ₹32 lakh in securities, holds about ₹27 lakh in bank accounts, and has Rs 18.5 lakh in insurance and public provident funds. The leader and his spouse are also significant gold owners, with assets worth Rs 40 lakh, and keep over Rs 1.7 lakh in cash.
Contrastingly, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s declared wealth presents a more conservative financial picture, amounting to approximately Rs 1.64 crore. Immovable assets, primarily land, constitute Rs 1.48 crore of his total worth. His liquid assets, including bank balances and cash, are around Rs 16.97 lakh.
These asset declarations provide a clear financial hierarchy among Bihar’s top political leaders as the electoral contest intensifies.
