As the political landscape in Bihar heats up for the upcoming elections, Telangana BJP spokesperson Prakash Reddy has intensified his criticism of the opposition’s Mahagathbandhan. Reddy declared the alliance to be a “divided bandhan,” suggesting a deep rift among its constituent parties, including the Congress and RJD. He anticipates this internal discord will significantly impact their electoral performance.
“The supposed Mahagathbandhan is fractured, a ‘divided bandhan.’ Unity is absent among Congress, RJD, and other allies. We face a divided opposition, not a united Mahagathbandhan. Voters are watching this disarray. I am convinced the Mahagathbandhan will suffer a heavy defeat and will not secure power,” Reddy stated.
Reddy also pointedly questioned the role and visibility of Rahul Gandhi in the Bihar campaign. He alluded to Gandhi’s past ‘vote chori’ walkathon and suggested that Gandhi is now evading Bihar due to public questioning of his previous claims. “Rahul Gandhi’s ‘vote chori’ padayatra has seemingly concluded, leaving his current whereabouts in the Bihar campaign uncertain. When confronted about his ‘vote chori’ allegations, he appears to have retreated from Bihar. His political influence in Bihar is negligible, and any impact is largely attributed to the RJD. However, internal family disputes within the RJD further undermine their credibility. The public has lost faith in both the RJD and Congress,” he elaborated.
Extending his critique, Reddy accused the Congress of a pattern of unfulfilled promises, citing their performance in Telangana. He believes this track record of broken commitments will be evident to voters in Bihar. “In Telangana, Congress made numerous pledges that remain unfulfilled, a situation now being mirrored in Bihar. This lack of delivery is their undoing,” he asserted. Reddy expressed strong optimism for the NDA’s success, predicting their government formation in Bihar on November 14.
The upcoming 2025 Bihar Elections will primarily feature a contest between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan. Key members of the Mahagathbandhan include the RJD, Congress, CPI-ML, CPI, CPM, and VIP. The NDA bloc consists of the BJP, JD(U), LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM (Secular), and RLMO. Additionally, Jan Suraaj, led by Prashant Kishor, has declared its intention to contest all 243 seats. The elections will take place in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results to be declared on November 14.
