Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has sent a clear message to drug traffickers, stating that his government will show no mercy. Mann made this declaration while speaking at events where new Tehsil complexes were inaugurated in Ahmedgarh and Amargarh. He highlighted that previously, drug operations were supported by individuals elected to serve the public, who misused their positions. Mann said that these leaders are now incarcerated due to the efforts of his government.
The Chief Minister appealed for widespread support in the fight against drugs and praised the success of the Yudh Nasheyan Virudh campaign. He reiterated the state’s commitment to combating sacrilege, introducing the Punjab Prevention of Crime Against Religious Scriptures Bill, 2025, to punish those who offend religious sentiments. Mann also discussed the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, a pioneering health scheme providing cashless medical care to every family in Punjab. He emphasized the government’s focus on creating job opportunities for youth and the transparent recruitment process, which has increased their faith in government jobs. Furthermore, Mann highlighted the government’s resolve to eradicate corruption and improve citizen services.
