DK Shivakumar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, introduced the CityCat cleaning vehicle in Bengaluru, marking a step towards a cleaner city. He framed the initiative as a symbol of the government’s commitment to environmental sustainability and improved infrastructure. In a social media post, he shared that the new vehicle is ready to be deployed. Additionally, Shivakumar discussed the Yettinahole project, assuring that water will be supplied to Kolar by 2027. Discussions with the Forest Department concerning the project’s challenges, land acquisition, and financial considerations for the Bairagonda and Lakkenahalli reservoir were also part of the discourse. Shivakumar indicated that adjustments to the project will be made based on ministerial suggestions, and he plans to raise the matter in the upcoming cabinet meeting. The Chief Minister has emphasized the importance of completing the Yettinahole project, even if it means delaying other initiatives, Shivakumar added.
