During interrogation by the Mumbai Crime Branch, Amol Gaikwad, an accused in the Baba Siddiqui murder case, revealed key details. Gaikwad stated he maintained continuous contact with Shubham Lonkar, the alleged mastermind, using ‘Dabba Calling’. The duo utilized encrypted applications like Signal for their conversations.
Dabba Calling involves making calls via Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). VPNs establish an encrypted connection between a device and a remote server, concealing the caller’s real identity and whereabouts. Consequently, this method poses a significant challenge for law enforcement and investigative bodies in identifying the origin of these calls.
