In Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with officers who played a pivotal role in recent anti-Naxal operations conducted in Chhattisgarh. He offered his congratulations on the historic success achieved. Shah reiterated the Modi government’s resolve to eliminate Naxalism across India.
These operations were conducted by security forces in Chhattisgarh under the guidance of the Union Home Minister. A notable operation, executed by the Chhattisgarh Police and DRG units from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur, took place in the interior areas of Abujhmad from May 18 to May 21. A subsequent encounter on May 21 in the forests of Boter village led to the neutralization of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Basavaraju alias Gaganna, alongside the recovery of substantial arms and ammunition.
Key officers involved, including Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police Sundarraj, and Superintendents of Police Prabhat Kumar, Jitendra Yadav, and Shalabh Singh, were recognized by Amit Shah. The meeting was also attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sharma, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, and Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka.
