Anish Dayal Singh, a retired IPS officer, has been appointed as Deputy NSA by the Modi government. He previously served as the Director-General of the CRPF and ITBP. Singh retired in December after a distinguished career, bringing extensive experience from his time with the Intelligence Bureau. His tenure as CRPF chief from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, was marked by key initiatives.
Singh’s career spans nearly 30 years in the Intelligence Bureau. He also held the position of DG of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Singh was born in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, in 1964 and trained at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. His achievements include bolstering the CRPF’s role in anti-Naxal operations and the reorganization of over 130 CRPF battalions.
