Air India has cancelled a series of flights, impacting both international and domestic travel, due to essential maintenance and operational demands. A total of eight flights have been grounded. This decision follows a prior announcement regarding a temporary decrease in services provided by Boeing 787 and 777 aircraft, commencing on June 21, 2025, and extending to July 15, 2025. The affected international routes include flights from Dubai to Chennai (AI906) and Hyderabad (AI2204), as well as flights from Delhi to Melbourne (AI308) and Melbourne to Delhi (AI309). Domestically, flights from Pune to Delhi (AI874), Ahmedabad to Delhi (AI456), Hyderabad to Mumbai (AI2872), and Chennai to Mumbai (AI571) have been cancelled. The airline’s actions are attributed to enhanced safety checks and prolonged flight times owing to Middle East airspace closures. Air India aims to stabilize its schedules and mitigate any last-minute disruptions for passengers. Several routes will experience a reduction in frequency until July 15, 2025.
