A cutting-edge solution to the escalating drone threat has emerged from India with the unveiling of the Indrajaal Ranger, the nation’s first fully mobile, artificial intelligence-driven anti-drone patrol vehicle. This advanced defense system, a product of Hyderabad-based Indrajaal Drone Defence, promises to revolutionize aerial security for critical infrastructure, borders, and cities.
The Ranger boasts impressive capabilities, able to detect rogue drones from as far as 10 kilometers while in motion. Once a threat is identified, the system is equipped to neutralize it from up to 4 kilometers away. This technology is crucial for India, which faces increasing challenges from drones used in smuggling operations, espionage, and the delivery of dangerous materials.
Showcased at a T-Hub event, the vehicle demonstrated its prowess in tackling various drone threats. The company’s CEO highlighted the Ranger’s potential to secure vulnerable border areas and disrupt illegal cross-border activities, particularly drug and arms smuggling. The system’s AI command center, SkyOS, developed by Green Robotics, manages its sophisticated arsenal, which includes GNSS spoofing, RF jammers, and a direct drone disabling mechanism. This allows for swift and automated responses.
Manufactured domestically and ARDTC certified, the Indrajaal Ranger is ready for immediate deployment in both defense and civilian sectors. Planned deployments will cover sensitive areas like border routes and vital utilities. The vehicle is built on a durable Toyota Hilux platform, ensuring mobility across diverse and difficult terrains. Its rugged exterior houses advanced sensors and deterrents, while the operator’s cabin is a high-tech hub with advanced displays and controls for seamless operation. The powertrain, a 2.8L diesel engine, provides the necessary power and agility for demanding missions.
