Mumbai. Many areas of Mumbai are receiving heavy rainfall for the second consecutive day on Saturday . The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall in the coastal districts of Maharashtra.
Deputy Director General of India Meteorological Department, Mumbai KS Hosalikar tweeted on Saturday that Mumbai received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. He tweeted that heavy rains will continue in Mumbai and West Coast today.
Hosalikar said that the city and its surrounding areas received 25 mm to 30 mm of rain after eight o’clock on Saturday morning.
The Meteorological Department had issued a red alert for Mumbai, Raigad and Ratnagiri on Friday and forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at several places in Palghar, Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts on Saturday.According to meteorological data, the Colaba Meteorological Bureau of Mumbai recorded 169 mm of rain in the last 24 hours, while the Santa Cruz weather station recorded 157 mm of rain in the same period.
