Gujarat cadre IAS officer Hardik Shah will be the new private secretary to PM Modi. He will replace Rajiv Topno. Hardik Shah is an IAS of Gujarat cadre of 2010 batch.
In a letter issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the appointment committee of the cabinet has approved the appointment of Hardish Shah. He is currently posted as deputy secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office.
Recently senior bureaucrat Rajiv Topno was appointed as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of the World Bank in Washington. Rajiv Topno is a 1996 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre. He was appointed the private secretary of the PM in July last year.
Officers were transferred in the Prime Minister’s Office in June. Apart from Rajiv Topno, Brijendra Navneet was appointed Ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland and a permanent representative of India. Navneet has served in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Navneet is a 1999 batch IAS of Tamil Nadu cadre. He has been Joint Secretary in PMO from July 2014 to September 2019.
