New Delhi. Accepting the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, the Central Government has given great relief to the central personnel. The central government has decided to introduce night duty allowance. The Department of Personnel and Training released a notification in this regard. The department issued this directive last week on 13 July and it has also been implemented from 1 July. The Central Government has taken this decision in view of the recommendation of the Seventh Pay Commission.

According to sources, the central government has abolished the duty allowance for all employees on the basis of special grade pay under the current system. Before implementing the recommendation of the Seventh Pay Commission, the Union employees were given night duty allowance on the basis of grade pay only. In cases where the base working time of the night weightage has been calculated, no compensation will be paid in these cases.

According to the information, a 10-minute weightage will be given for every hour during night duty. According to the government, only work done between 10 am and 6 am will be considered night duty.

A ceiling has been fixed on the basis of the basic pay of night couple allowances. The Personnel Department said, “Basic salary limit for night duty allowance has been fixed at Rs 43,600 per month”.

The government will pay this allowance on hourly basis, which will be equal to BP + DA / 200. BP means basic salary and DA means dearness allowance. These two will be calculated on the basis of the seventh pay commission.

This formula will apply to employees of all ministries and departments. The central government will pay the amount of night duty allowance on the basis of basic salary and night duty of every employee.
