Locals consider it an excavation for the sewer line being built in the middle of the entrance. People opposed the line being built between the entrance. Along with this, the entrance and the books have been repaired.
Heavy rains started from around 2.30 am on Friday morning, due to which heavy water came, the entrance of Maa Uma Devi from Badrinath Highway on Uma Devi Chowk collapsed. The route to the Uma temple was also damaged. Former Municipality President Subhash Garola, Akash Pujari, Kanti Prasad, Naresh Prasad, Anoop Chahan etc. have demanded memorandum to the SDM to rebuild the gate.
Under the scheme Namami Gange, which has been in operation for three years, the sewer line treatment scheme is being constructed in the city for the last three years. Construction of the line, four treatment plants and maintenance of the plan for 15 years is also to be done at a cost of about 12 crores but other constructions including the Chamber of the lines are getting damaged many times. Due to this, people are raising the question of low quality.
Deepak Vats, the under-engineer of Drinking Water Construction Corporation, who is constructing the sewer line, says that work on the plan is nearing completion. Only the old line near Uma Devi Gate was being connected that the gate and the book were damaged due to rain. Action will be taken to construct the gate and books.
