Kanpur: Gangster Vikas Dubey, the main accused in the Kanpur encounter case , was killed in the encounter. This news has been officially confirmed. As soon as the UP STF team reached Vikas Dubey, it started snatching pistols of security personnel in the car. Meanwhile, the vehicle overturned after the balance deteriorated. As soon as the vehicle overturned, Vikas started running away and also fired on the police. Security personnel also opened fire in their defense, after which Vikas Dubey was seriously injured. The security personnel rushed him to the hospital early. After a while doctors declared him dead.

After the post-mortem, the doctor told that Vikas Dubey had 4 bullets during the encounter. 3 bullets hit the chest and one hand.

Giving details of the incident, the police said, ‘UP STF convoy was going on about Vikas Dubey. During this time an accident occurred and the vehicle overturned. Policemen were injured after overturning the car. After this, Vikas Dubey took away the pistol of the policemen and started running. While running, he opened fire on the policemen. The police tried to get him surrendered, but he did not agree. After this, the policemen opened fire in self-defense and Vikas Dubey was killed.

Four policemen, including 2 inspectors (one STSF inspector), were injured in the encounter, who have been admitted to Kalyanpur CHC. Sources said that the encounter took place between 7.15 and 7.35. All the vehicles including the media were stopped from 6.40 to 7.30.

Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Awasthi reached the Chief Minister’s residence and updated CM Yogi about Vikas Dubey’s encounter. He gave complete information to the CM about the facts related to the incident. Full information was also given about the legal action after the encounter. After this, CM Adityanath has summoned the Director General of Police. In a short while, the DGP will tell the Chief Minister about the entire incident in detail.

Sources also said that Vikas Dubey’s family members can be taken to Kanpur under police protection. A heavy police force has been deployed at Vikas Dubey’s brother and his house.

Earlier, as soon as the convoy of UP STF trains reached Vikas Dube at the toll plaza in Kanpur, the movement of other trains was stopped.

On Thursday, Vikas Dubey, an accused in the Kanpur encounter case was arrested in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, STF took him by road and left for Kanpur. Vikas Dubey was the main accused in the murder of 8 policemen in Kanpur, who had been absconding for several days.

Mohit Aggarwal IG Kanpur said that 4 policemen have been injured in the encounter who have been admitted to Kalyanpur CHC. Vikas Dubey was trying to escape by snatching his weapon.
