Fans can now catch Dhanush’s recently released film, ‘Idli Kadai,’ on a popular streaming platform. After its initial theatrical run commenced on October 1st, the movie made its digital premiere on Netflix on October 29th. Available in multiple languages including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, ‘Idli Kadai’ offers a wider reach to its audience.
Dhanush not only stars as the protagonist in ‘Idli Kadai’ but also directed and wrote the script. The film boasts a strong supporting cast featuring Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Raj Kiran, Sathyaraj, Parthiban, Samuthirakani, and Nithya Menen. This project is another feather in Dhanush’s cap, produced under the banners of Dawn Pictures and Wunderbar Films.
The narrative follows Murugan, a village youth who dreams of a life beyond his hometown. He departs to the city in pursuit of his ambitions, leaving behind his family’s beloved idli business. His journey takes an unforeseen turn, bringing him back to his roots and leading to significant personal growth. The Telugu rendition, known as ‘Idli Kottu,’ faced stiff competition at the box office from films like ‘OG’ and ‘Kantara: Chapter 1.’ Nevertheless, ‘Idli Kadai’ managed to secure a total box office earning of Rs 50.39 crore, following an initial Rs 11 crore on its opening day.
