Vijay Deverakonda’s spy thriller, ‘Kingdom,’ has debuted, aiming to reverse a string of less successful films. The movie premiered on July 31 with a strong opening and positive feedback, but its box office performance is now facing challenges.
The film’s opening day brought in Rs 18 crore. The Telugu version contributed Rs 17.25 crore, and the Tamil version added Rs 0.75 crore. Day 2 saw a sharp decline of 58.33%, with collections dropping to Rs 7.5 crore. A modest recovery occurred on Day 3, with earnings of Rs 8 crore. Estimated collections for Day 4 are approximately Rs 7 crore. This brings the total box office collection for the first weekend to Rs 40.5 crore.
The film’s current earnings are less than ‘Liger,’ Vijay’s 2022 pan-India release, which made Rs 41.17 crore.
‘Kingdom’ features Vijay Deverakonda as Surya, a secret agent who encounters imprisonment while on a dangerous assignment. He unexpectedly forms bonds with those he was sent to oppose. The film’s producers sought to create a large-scale project, with the narrative’s scope derived from the story’s setting and personal themes.
‘Kingdom’ is produced by S Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya. Key roles are played by Bhagyashri Borse, Satyadev, and Manish Chaudhary.
